Abstract
This essay examines the strategy and tactics of infformation warfare by showing how the tools of cyberwar present novel ways of achieving traditional political, material, and symbolic objectives. We discuss how information capabilities have altered the current conflict environment: the nature of vulnerabilities and threats. We provide an overview of how to think about information warfare and discuss the underlying logic and technical prerequisites of various types of information attacks. We conclude by discussing some of the most important continuities and discontinuities between the past and the present regarding the strategy and tactics of information warfare.Copyright Notice
